Ardrey Kell High School's 2011 left-handed hitting catcher, Conner Patterson, is the younger brother of Taylor Patterson who has signed to play behind the dish at Francis Marion University. They both really know what it takes to play the demanding position and welcome the physical toll it takes on the body. Conner is a vocal leader who is really evolving into a top notch prospect that can do it offensively and defensively. He is a good blocker and receiver that possesses a strong arm. His pop times now as a junior are consistently in the 2.0 to 2.1 range but his strong suit is the way he handles pitchers and what he is capable of doing offensively. He has a sweet left-handed swing that allows him to spray the ball all over the yard and he is getting stronger which will definitely help for his power down the road. He is a hardworker and has developed a lot under the tutelage of Hal Bagwell at Ardrey Kell HS and Rafael Mendez at On Deck in regards to his catching fundamentals. He is a great kid with good grades and still has a big upside in which he will continue his progression playing this fall with the 2011 On Deck O’s-Black.
